In 2011, I moved to Florence. Slept in a train station. Slept in an airport. Climbed a volcano. Spent hours in customs. Rode a camel in Morocco. Almost got mugged in Paris. Hiked through Capri. Had a view of the Duomo from my kitchen. Got in a pillow fight in London. Had a conversation in Italian. Went cliff diving in Croatia. Adopted a dog in Greece. Spent St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland. Ate snails, frogs and mystery foods. Drank lots of mint tea. Wore togas in the colosseum. Stayed in a town with no cars. Got lost in Amsterdam. Walked up the Eiffel Tower. Fell asleep in front of the leaning tower. Had chocolate in Belgium. Got to spend time alone with my parents for the first time in years. Took cars, trains, planes, ferries and buses. Met some of the most incredible people. In 2011, I went to camp. I lived with 15 other people. I stopped a bathroom rapist. I danced on my bed, I shuffled. I look a million photos. I taught kids. My team won color war. I braided my hair. I got my nails painted different colors. I loved my kids. I jumped in lakes. I couldn’t climb the ice burg. I went Pontoon boating. I saw the last Harry Potter movie. I helped make movies. My best friends were 10 through 15. I laughed. I cried. I got overwhelmed. I rolled in class. I stayed up all night. I celebrated carnival. I woke my girls up at midnight for surprise food. I sang. I sang every day. I met the most incredible group of kids and counselors. In 2011, I moved into my first real apartment. I interned at Late Night. I wrote a paper on Oprah. I payed the electric bill. I played Celebrity with Jimmy. I slept. I cooked. I lived with my favorite person on the planet. I watched hours of television. Took walks in the park. I went to almost every NYU Hockey Game. Turned 21. Skipped class. Got my first real job. I graduated college. Learn so much. Hung out with my crazy siblings. Saw some awesome shows. Saw some awesome movies. I obsessed over the Rangers. I learned about football. I went to Boston, Baltimore and all over New Jersey with a bus load of hockey players. I overslept, I woke up early, I had to keep grown up hours. I spent time with old friend and I met some amazing new ones. In 2011, I found happiness. I grew, I changed, I learned and I loved. I am so blessed to have had this life and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store. THANK YOU 2011!!!! :)
Seriously obsessed with her blog. Wish I had the time to craft like this <3
Do not go gentle into that good night, Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
